How many of you who don't consider yourselves computer geeks know what RSS is and use it at least once a week?
Me. Though it's through LJ.

I know what it is, but I don't use it yet. Been thinking about it.
I've been online since the early '90s. The Internet was the first place I found fellow vegetarians. I ended up being a sysop in or running vegetarian forums on several online services. My early experiences also led me invite an Australian family of four to stay with me for four days during their American vacation and to join a group of local and out of town inline skaters for a trip around Washington, DC. (I was out of my league, but they made sure I survived.)
I know a good mom would be all worried and wanting to stay with him to hold him and snuggle him and feed him. But seriously? I'm like, "WHEW! opportunity to have a good night's sleep!"
But a smart mom would take the time to sleep and recharge. And a smart mom is a good mom. Sleep well!
Oh, I forgot my acquired tastes meara -
Casu marzu, a Sardinian cheese containing live insect larvae
I'm sorry, but... ack! And also,
Hákarl, putrefied Iceland shark
Ack!
Head cheese, a dish made of meat from an animal's skull covered with gelatin (usually set in a mold)
Never knew head cheese was made from actual heads.
Root beer, an herbal flavored soft drink
Seriously? Who doesn't like root beer? (Go on, I know you're out there...)
I actually don't like a lot of root beers, because of the overly sweet.
Of course, I am also craving marzipan right now, and you can't get much sweeter than that.
Mmmm. Marzipan. Two friends and I have this whole marzipan thing. Though it involves neither pie plates nor bingo.
Hmmm, I was active back in the days of Usenet, though it was mostly just communicating with The Scary Strangers on rec.arts.sf and rec.arts.comics. Betsy and I go back that far, actually. Then I joined GEnie in 1991 and the world changed a whole lot for me.
Who doesn't like root beer?
Hand up! It's not the beverage I'll be drinking in hell (that would be Fresca) but I'm not a fan.
(ftr, I like cilantro in moderation and when it is applied appropriately and I love ruby red grapefruit but prefer it in (unsweetened) form)
man, it's hot here and there's nothing I want to watch or read
wah
although I've got Flight of the Conchords on now and it's pretty hilarious.
I can see root beer being an acquired taste, but something tells me it's a lot less of an effort to acquire than a taste for Casu marzu.
Hmm. The dancer thing had me hypnotized for a while. At first it never changed at all. Looking at the shadow made no difference. It was finally when I focused on her landing foot that I saw anything. Then whammo, she was going in the opposite direction. Then I was able to change it at will.
I use RSS, but I don't count 'cause I am a geek. I was online as early as '80, but an an enfant. Then my lost career opportunities slipped away as I played Oregon Trail instead of programming Turtle for years. I came back online in about '90 briefly, then again in '93 to stay.
