Please don't ask why, but thanks to this conversation, I'm not going to be able to think of Sam and Ruby without thinking of lutefisk.
Wait, where does the lye come in? I could maybe see a connection if the woman that flatlined before Ruby set up house had been played by Lara Flynn Boyle...

Who knows what ill effects demon blood infection has on other bodily fluids?
Glad I do not know of the fish thing. Nor does my phone dictionary. Whee! So glad the COMM brought us Emily.
Look, all this talk about Ruby being inside a re-animated body and whether or not it constitutes necrophilia confuzzles me. Because Sam himself is a re-animated body, and he was dead for days, not just seconds. Really not much of a stretch for them to be gettin' it on, there.
with that in mind, Dean is also a reanimated body.
As was John. It's a Winchester Family Tradition!
Sam is reanimated, but alive. Just like his Daddy was.
Ruby's reanimated, but not in a body that's exactly alive. Just sort of not dead so long as she's holding it together. She's a demon inhabiting a fairly fresh corpse.
It's a matter of degrees of ickiness, I suppose.
I will be happy to take over for any of you who find the Winchester corpsicles too squicksome. I'm a giver like that.
