I'd never heard of Sam Hain before last night, and had to wikipedia it today after y'all were driven batshit by it's misusage. Then again, I'm not much of a Halloweener. Is that how everyone knows it?
Love the actor who plays Uriel. I'm also loving the way the Wire actors are popping up everywhere this season. Wasn't he Bunny?
Yes he was, Wolfram. I squealed.
Uriel is the archangel that holds the flaming sword right? That has to to reiterate that Castiel has unfathomable power because although I have no doubt that Uriel could and would follow through on any of his threats, he shut the hell up the minute Castiel even looked at him. When I rewatched, Castiel is definitely the Dom.
Huh. I came away with the different impression that Uriel was like the brash, mightier older sibling who quieted down when his little brother brought up the prospect of telling Dad on him.
I guess I can see Samhain being a demon now... we've seen other gods that degenerated with time and lack of worship, and I suppose it stands to reason that one whose dominion is the Underworld could go the same route as damned human souls. Even though he didn't get to inflict much carnage, he had the white eyes and overexposed flash of doom like Lilith that seem to be the signs of a major player, and may indicate non-human origin. The name thing still bugged mightily, though.
Uriel is the archangel that holds the flaming sword right?
That would be Michael, God's warrior, to whom Dean has been compared in meta discussions, and indirectly in Houses of the Holy, and symbolically in Hunted.
So, the angels
did
refer to Mr. Sam Haine as such, then?
As a demon?
Yes.
Also, the guy who played him was in the finale of
Journeyman.
He played the guy who traveled before Kevin McKidd's character traveled.
Yes, sadly, they did. At least the ones in last night's episode did.
The actor also played the husband of Maggie Walsh (Lindsay Crouse) in the episode of CSI where she played a MTF character.
He had a chance to use a really nice voice last night. Not often he gets to use that voice.
re: Castiel shaking Sam's hand. I may have missed it already being mentioned here, but I didn't think Castiel was being rude or squeamish about shaking hands, but rather had no idea what Sam was doing. I took it as "Castiel's a bit naive about human customs", although I'm sure that Sam took it as Castiel snubbing him.
Never heard samhain pronounced any other way than phon --phoen-- the way it's spelled. Crazy Celtic. The most that I'm familiar with is Sidhe being pronounced "She".
::nods:: "Scream like a Ban Sidhe", or a pale faery. Faeries is fierce, not like those Disney fairies, at all.
