I actually kind of love that John has no idea what to make of a guy like Dean. His world-view is fairly, if not narrow, sheltered. Despite the war, which I can see him handwaving as a whole *other* world.

I LOVE that Dean was able to influence his dad to buy his Baby.

Also Dean trying to be subtle doesn't work.
