Supernatural 1: Saving People, Hunting Things - the Family Business

He really, really nails it.
I want to go back and watch Dean's initial "Why me?" conversation with Bobby and Sam. So good. "Well, it creeps me out!" Funny, but he's so absolutely confounded by the idea, and JA played it beautifully.
I agree with Bev about Dean's subtle shift at the end with Castiel, too. Bravado pushed down, looking at him sideways instead of head-on, absolutely silent -- perfect. For a moment, even Dean knew he wasn't the alpha dog. Hell, he wasn't even the beta.
You could also see a zit between JA's eyebrows. He's human! Amazing!
I'm rewatching right now. Because I can.
I was happy to realize at the beginning of the episode that Castiel's existence wasn't something Dean was going to keep secret from Sam, although I would have liked to have seen the discussion. Now I'm waiting rather impatiently for the "By the way, Dean, Ruby's still around and oh yeah, I have these Jedi demon-killing abilities" speech.

I was happy and surprised that Dean was so forthcoming with his information. Then again, Dean still didn't believe, so he wanted answers. I don't know if Sam, OTOH, will ever find his "right" time to tell Dean. He's correct. Dean's gonna be pissed.
that gave me chills. i actually couldn't tear my eyes from the tv during that whole exchange. talk about presence. damn.
I was asked if this was the premiere because I was so focused on it.
"no, that's the new angel of the lord." duh.
I'm rewatching right now. Because I can.
Me too. Then sleeping and dreaming of angels. Scary angels. Scary naked angels.
That was awesome. I will be rewatching that last scene many many times.
"You should show me some respect."
I am SO GLAD that this happened sooner in the arc than later. Go Castiel with the smacking back at Dean!
Bobby? Awesome. And
smart.
Dear Santa, I have been really really good this year. I would like a panic room against ghosts for my very own. I promise to dust it with salt every month. (But I don't need a poster of Bo Derek. A poster of David Bowie or the MCR boys would be just fine.)
Was that Bo Derek? I thought it was Ursula Andress. Sigh. The things you miss with a glance.
I like my idea better.
I love that I want to rewatch episodes again.
Me too! I have to wait until the itunes comes through though.
Nicki Aycox looks prettier with longer hair. And she was really good there.
tiggy, I am with you on that "You should show me some respect" line. Such coldness there. It was awesome.
Also, Bobby may have a panic room, but he doesn't know the correct title of the Book of Revelation either. I suppose I cannot blame him when Death himself gets it wrong in
Good Omens,
so.
I wish Olivia had lived. She had some sweet guns. And an EMF detector! Plus, pretty.
Oh, P-C, the pretty gets you every time.
::looks at Winchester boys. looks at angel. grins, shrugs::
I liked Olivia too. She moved and handled her weapons and herself very competently.
So this is two very pretty, sexy brunettes down so far. When do the blondes start to fall?
The new Kruby is very sweet and inoffensive and all appealing and stuff--I'm much more tempted to believe her than Katie-Ruby when she says she's on the side of good.
And then I remember--Demon! Demons lie, it's a basic tenet of the show. I still think she has some purpose that won't be to Sam's or humanity's benefit.
