WRT Dean slapping the "girl". I think it was intended to show Dean's demon-detection abilities, and that whatever brought him back has the demons scared. I don't think it was meant in a misogynistic way. I plan to try not to load S3's issues into S4 until they become apparent. That the girl-demon, now blind, proceeded to whomp on Sammy seems like a fair enough exchange of physical force, both encounters intended to show that neither Winchesters nor demons adhere to the niceties of social custom.

Or, I could just be an ostrich at the moment. Time will tell. And Non timebo mala.

I believe Castiel when he said he warned her. And even angels can't avoid collateral damage -- in terms of demons occupying human bodies -- especially if we're getting old-school avenging angels.
