And yet despite that, Sam and Dean didn't make any tasteless homophobic jokes, and Maggie survived and was a bit snarky (I'm trying to ignore the "oh I'm scared please kiss me" business), and Sam and Dean were smart in the end. If a bit unkind to these well-meaning amateurs.
We finally had an Asian female who wasn't, you know, a maid!
Despite being unspoiled, and despite them not showing the writing credits until the end, I was watching (at midnight thirty, because I was on tape delay and had fallen asleep in the toddler bed at ten) and thinking, "If this is not Edlund, I will EAT MY HAT."
My hat, she was safe.
(And while he was doomed, I actually liked that the gay character was the one male Ghost Facer with what appeared to be, oh, social skills.)
I woke up this morning thinking of Maggie, a few years down the line, cheerfully hunting ghosts in her spare time, and running into Sam.
That would be cool.
A couple of people over at TWOP were casting the Ghostfacers! as Torchwood - I guess Ed is Jack and Henry is Owen with Corbett as Ianto and Maggie as Tosh.
Who's Spruce? (bruce? whatever his name was...)
Spruce was behind the camera most of the episode.
Clearly, he has to be Gwyn.
Spruce is Sock from
Reaper.
Ha!
The
mustard circle
thing from this week's Reaper makes me think that it really ought to be paired with SPN. . . you know, if they can keep it up.
Ha!
Seriously, that thing where he pointed the camera at himself and talked about how great he was was totally a Sock thing to do.
And a Reaper/SPN crossover would be pretty great.
I feel kind of sad reading everyone's reactions here and LJ, because I think my knee jerk reaction to the Blair Witch style camera work makes it much harder for me to enjoy this episode than it should be.
Oh well.
I found the Andrew-esque tuxedoed introduction and the footage of the Ghostfacers getting prepared pretty much unwatchable, but once they were in the haunted house environment and the Winchesters showed up, it was fun.
