I love that Dean is thoughtfully holding the amulet aside.

Hee...I was hoping it was a shot of Victor and the boys. But that will do very nicely too.
It's funny, because Sam looks fierce and grim, and Dean looks a little pained, like, "He made me deface my beautiful body, dude."
Ya know, I'm simultaneously looking through pet rescue sites searching for another dog to bring home, since I lost my Gabriel last month, and these pictures keep me swinging back and forth from the "awww" of the dog pictures to the "rrawrr" of the SamnDean pictures. My hormones are very confused at the moment.
I was thinking they both looked a little humiliated. Is that from just admitting they have them or is it from having to show them?
You guys realize we're never ever going to get shirtless scenes again, right? The tats are a pain for makeup to reproduce accurately every time.
And why didn't Mr. Padalecki mention the tats when he was talking about "getting his abs painted up" in Chicago? Tight-lipped whippersnapper.
I've read stories about John insisting that neither of them ever get tattoos because it "breaks the integrity of the skin" and allows possession. But then I've read stories where either (usually Sam) or both of them get protective tattoos, so I guess it depends on what mythology you follow. Most aboriginal people believe in protective tattoos, either as an inclusion into the protection of the group, or to prevent interference from a supernatural source.
Also, I'm kicking myself now for not enlarging the photos before I downloaded them. That's as large as they'll go now. I'm still looking for the source.
And we do love you for your diligence.
Sam's is in opposite position from Dean's. Same place on the body but the tatoo is turned. Would they bother to do that each time they show the boys with their shirts off?
But, as was mentioned earlier, it's not like we get a lot of shirtless episodes anyway. I think someone needs to send in some island mythology to the writers for the boys to run around in the sun.
I have to hold onto the belief that if the show loves us enough to give us the tandem tat reveal (good lord, I think I'm still reeling), it loves us enough to throw us a shirtless once in a while. And I do mean have to. I might cry otherwise.
ETA: Ha! I was just about to add... not that they do that a lot anyway.
tandem tat reveal
I think you gave me the visual I will be holding as I drift off to sleep. :)
Oh show.
