They're glad we're helping them keep their jobs, but we're more than a little weird for fixating on single lines.
The weirdest stuff occurs to me. (Of course, that's probably because I watch the episodes over and over.)
For example: In both Route 666 and Heart, we get the *boys* going down on their backs at the start of the sex -- the girls are on top, and both times they're the aggressor.
But ... is the actual physical *woman on top* opening shot a statement? Or is just easier to film the *boys'* faces from that angle?
I think about this stuff way too much.
I also watch those scenes a lot. Like, a LOT.
Did everyone but me universally hate Cassie? That episode makes me so heartsick for vulnerable! in love! Dean. Not that I don't want him on the road with Sam, but I *love* the idea of him finding someone and really falling hard.
Because, apparently, I want to take care of him as often as I want to crawl into his lap and whisper naughty things in his ear.
I liked Cassie! I liked all the stuff with her and I really wish we could have had a glimpse at what she and Dean were like together. I'd love to see that side of Dean.
One thing to remember is that the actors don't get just one cohesive hour of the show per week for half a year like we do. They're trudging through forests and warehouses for long hours every day trying to remember dozens of pages of dialogue, and probably hearing everything out of order and changing from take to take.
It'd be like me fondly remembering that block of text I formatted as sidebars six months ago at the end of a ten hour day.
Hi JenP!
I liked Cassie and I also liked Carmen. In fact with Carmen, because he said that he understood why she was the one, I feel sad that she isn't real. I still have her tied to that one true love feeling. So I guess I've enjoyed both of the serious relationships that Dean had with girls. He is very sexy all of the time as in-love-Dean.
I think about this stuff way too much.
Yes! This is me.
That's very true, Matt. Good analogy. Also, the actors often don't see the episodes until well after the air date, if they watch them at all.
I liked Cassie. I thought she and Dean made a pretty couple. I just wanted the actress to, you know, act. Now Sarah, in Provenance, I liked a lot, and I thought she and Sam had really good chemistry. I'd like to see her back again.
I need to rewatch Provenance, anyway. Steve Carlson wrote a song for that episode (it plays in the restaurant scene). And also, when the guys and Sarah go to the old lady's house to retrieve the painting, there's a scene where Dean is comparing the photo of the painting with the actual painting, and he says, "Jared, check it out,". Heh.
I liked the concept of Cassie a lot. And the acting grows on you after a few viewings.
I thought the racist, homocidal truck showed a lot of range.
JP was in my dreams last night! But I can't actually remember them. I just had a flash of it as I was catching up here. Seems to me we were on an adventure, though.
