Because books.

Hey, Duane lied! There was something left behind -- the doctor.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I think YED had a cadre lined up, to hedge his bets, but he had a special fondness for Sam, and hoped he'd be the one.

Gah. Grand Canyon speech.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

But if Sam had actually killed the others, he would have proved himself and gone over to the dark side, all in one fell swoop.

Or maybe it was a silly plan.

I love this scene ... with reservations. Because JP is off here. That "What?!" was so overplayed. He's just ... not Sam here, until the very end.

Okay, who wants to watch the rest of this scene from Hunted? It's right there on the disc!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Maybe he and Meg were just jealous of Sam.

Well, I think Sonny Boy was pulling hard for Andy, and was pissy that Daddy Dearest wanted it to be Sam, Sam, Sam. Always Sam fuckin' Winchester. Dude, couldn't Dad see that Andy would have been WAY more fun as Miss Antichrist 2007?

Now someone explain why Sam is the Boy King, when YED had a whole cast lined up for auditions, and seemed ready to crown Jake, if not happy about it. ::waits patiently::

You always have to have a backup plan! An heir and a spare!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I'd really rather it be specifically Sam, personally.
I like that it's not all Fate, there is some freewill going on.

This.

I suspect the doctor wasn't alive much longer.

Damn, what's the next ep? Bad Blood? Nightshifter? I AM LOST.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Aaah! What a place to leave off? How did people survive when these were first run eps?

Also, I'm kind of curious about what the speculation was during the break.

Nightshifter is next.

How did we survive it first run? We swore at Kripke a lot.

Dude, the drunken stoned MySpace pictures alone would have been worth it.

Edited to fix my coding. Sober coding, even.
