I know it wouldn't be in character, but it's always bothered me that Dean simply couldn't muster up a "good luck" for Sam's interview.
And I STILL want to know what brought Dean back to the apartment.
I want a fic where Dean has a premonition-vision where he sees Jess on the ceiling and shows up at Stanford to rescue Sam.
Carry the baby out of the burning house. Again.
And there endeth his happiness
Anne, want me to come ring your doorbell?
"We made a hell of a team out there."
I like that in JA still shots, I can almost always tell which character it is in the picture. Or if he's in Dean drag but OOC on the set.
Oh, Sammy.
(Who, wow, looked uncomfy eating on camera)
She doesn't even take a breath, I swear...
MY handwave is that even though he drove away, he couldn't let it go. Wanted to try to convince Sam one last time to join him. OR he wanted to say good luck. So he went back.
Awwww, I love the pilot, so very much.
See everyone back at the top of the hour!
Anne, tell you have call waiting.
Or if he's in Dean drag but OOC on the set.
It's scary that I know exactly what you mean.

It's true. Something else JA does, that good, invested actors do, is even when he's in the background, he's in character. He's listening, interactive. He doesn't pull focus, but he's *in* the scene, adding energy and focus to the primary action.
Takes it seriously. As opposed to himself.
