I read it a couple weeks ago on a link from SGA newsletter I think.
His hair weighed 6 llbs (I think) and it was starting to hurt his neck doing the stunts. But Jason Momoa said that Ronan wouldn't cut his hair so he had a wig made.

I was wondering the same thing. But maybe it will be less of a strain on his neck if it's only when he's filming or something.
The only pics I can find of him with short hair seem to be when he was younger.

Mamoa was yummy with short hair. But Ronon's dreads definitely add to his look.
Any scene with running and dodging and swerving? The dreads are kinda like contrails.
But I can see how that much heavy hair all the time would be difficult to work with.
Maybe Dean should get a wig. Or extensions! Silly Kripke, an inch more hair for the man does not equal a Felicity. Nor does a decent trim for Sam.
