Not to be blunt, but I don't trust ... fandom of a certain age? That's rude to say, I know, and probably untrue. But that starry-eyed thirteen-year-old girl mindset is not always logical, true.

Um, says the girl who never had a jot of interest in any actor's life before SPN ATE MY BRAIN. For real. For me, I think it's the fact that the two Js are so charming in interviews and at cons, and the genuine affection they have for each other. I'm also weak and easily swayed by excessive pretty, though.
Word. I thought I had a Jensen thing when he was in Dark Angel, but then I wasn't interested in watching him in his later shows. So evidently it was an Alec thing. And now a Dean thing.
Hearing them talk about tickling each other's feet and taking Thanksgiving-style naps after pizza is just gravy.
I think it's becoming part of the show's schtick, so I can't really blame the fans for buying into what is being sold. Someone realizes the two actors are impossibly cute together and uses it to promote the show. I'm probably a bit jaded, but I see the con appearances and "stories" as playing to the crowd, and not really breaking the fourth wall. They have created an image and now use it to sell their product. Like their own little con "webisodes". I don't mean that negatively. I like watching that part of the show too. It makes me smile and feel good and have warm fuzzies.
I like that much better than when an actor or actors break the fourth wall themselves and I realize part way through their blog or post that they are bat shit crazy. It takes me awhile to be able to watch their work again and lose that outside knowledge.

No Ben love?
Oh there was Ben love. Ben = Alec. Ben = Glory. Something like that.

Fandom of a certain mental age, perhaps.
What Ginger Said.

But that's exactly what vaulted Ben Browder past everyone else in my actorly affections: the realization that not only is he batshit crazy, but he's my kind of crazy.
I was going to say. The number of middle-aged women who are actually thirteen...
I'm twenty-eight, and I'll often cop to being thirteen.
I'm 33. I'm also often a 12 or 13 year old boy, or so I'm told.
