Because books.

I have unreasonable love for How the Ghosts Stole Christmas.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I may still have it on tape somewhere. Next to Arcadia. Was Arcadia S6? I guess I have to keep it, too.

I have Arcadia on tape somewhere! I taped a bunch of episodes one day during a marathon, and I got the one with the baseball player, Arcadia, Home (I think), and a few others.

I have NO IDEA where it is now, though.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Is Arcadia the one where Scully and Mulder pretend to be married in some sort of housing complex? For some reason, this is the only episode of X-files I have ever seen, and I have seen it at least 3 times.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I always had an affection for "Drive," which is the episode that introduced me to Bryan Cranston.

Was Giles a Mary Sue/flabotinum?

No. Giles had his own angst, which rules him out as flabotinum, and was regularly mocked as dorky, which rules him out as a Mary Sue.

Not all middle-aged people with access to research materials are flabotinum, just the ones who supply all the necessary information in a 3-minute phone conversation.

He did seem to serve that role in the first season and (memfault) early S2? Until he got the angst that is.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Although he did kind of become flabotinum-ish in S7....

No, no, no, in S1/S2 Giles was already serving as a foil -- and sometime antagonist -- for Buffy. Even that last line from the pilot, "The world is doomed," was a character note rather than anything that smells like flabotinum.

Also, I mean, if not for Giles, who among us would know what a stevedore is? I ask you!
