Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

You're in tune with me, sumi.

I'm not loving the season so far, and I feel disloyal for it. Although, I didn't love last season either, until at least halfway through. I'm trying to find more love on rewatch.

Speaking of rewatch, after Jared's screentest hit YouTube, I've gone back and watched a lot of S1 to concentrate on his performance. There's no denying that he has learned and improved a lot. But, overshadowed as he may have been by his co-star's work, JP brought a lot to Sam, right from the beginning.

I hope I can look back at S3 and love it too.

Art Crawl!!!

Well, I have been enjoying this season up until tonight. This episode seemed slow, off-pace somehow and very mid-seasony. Plus, lots and lots of exposition which seemed more about assuring the audience that Dean knew certain things that the audience already knew.

Like what? What the demon girl was saying?

Exactly.

I thought a lot of that was new? I mean, we had a hint of "demon army, now there's chaos," but I also thought the Azazel reveal went along with what Pride said in M7. Plus it reinforces the "not all demons have the same agenda" idea, which I think is new from last season.

The Azazel reveal - but we knew YED was Azazel because John used the Sigil of Azazel when he summoned the demon.

Dean didn't know that though.

John used the Sigil of Azazel

Did they say that in the show? If I knew that, I forgot it. A lot of the audience (and Dean) probably didn't know that.

Err. I'd missed that, actually. Or not paid attention. I think I was too busy watching with Bev, and it hasn't really come up on the flist analysis.

mearaing

I have a hard time believing they always need to go for the book when they need to perform an exorcism -- I bet John pounded that rite into their heads at a young age, and probably had them practicing the words during road trips. They should be able to spit the worlds out in their sleep.

They were unfamiliar with it until Phantom Traveler, per the episode.

And I love the idea that the demons aren't *sure* Lucifer exists any more than humans can be sure of God.

That was awesome.

Azazel!

At which point, a ZILLION ficwriters were all, "WOO! CALLED IT, BITCH!"

Dude, they are so having hot evil sex at some point. "That little fallen angel on your shoulder..."

Dear lord please yes.

Note that the body she's in is now toast, if it doesn't belong to her native, which I doubt it does, on account of Bobby shooting her like that.

Anyone else bothered by the fact that Bobby shot a human without remorse?? I mean, demon-possessed human, but before he at least had sympathy for the people that were inside.

Me! Me!

Yeah, Bobby shooting the possessed human with a kill shot without remorse was another reason to not like this episode.
