According to some fan site that keeps track of such things (such vague non-confirmation, shame on me), SPN was down 3% in viewer stats for 3.03. Despite the fact that the show has really come strong right out of the gate. I think it's criminal that the CW is throwing all its promo weight behind Reaper and ignoring SPN. Not that Reaper isn't a good show (I don't know, I don't watch). But I think because it's a sitcom, and it appeals to the prized younger demographic who apparently can't handle drama unless it's glammed up like Gossip Girl, and who need reality embarrassment tv or pratfall comedy to entertain themselves. Shame, really.
I'd still like to know what's up with the Roger Rabbit color saturation.

Oh. I read that. Huh. I must have been focusing on the golfing with Jared stories!
The color palette this season really doesn't bother me. The really dark shows get hard to watch after a while, on the eyes, I mean. And they've had some nice shadowy stuff, like in M7 with the candles and the shutters.
The world isn't all twilight and shadows, so it just doesn't bother me, I guess.
