The other thing: Sam could offer a modified deal. He and Dean both get ten years, then both of them go to hell -- angst, and it punts the problem past the probable life of the series. Or maybe they both get only an additional year - so they have one more season for solution one to kick it.
I think she'd refuse the deal. I do. Not that I've ever written that scene or anything.
