I'm surprised, too, Jilli. I'm with Plei on Nightshifter. So much good in that ep, and if I start listing all the moments I'll be late for work.
Hmmm. Well, I am going to re-watch it and see if my first so-so reaction holds. Because the pacing was great, and the introduction of the FBI agent was cool. There was just something about it that didn't quite grab me, and I don't know what.
I was spoiled for parts of BUaBS, so I didn't get the HSQ that some others might have. Oh, and proof that I apparently DO share part of my brain with Bobby: as soon as he walked on screen with the bottles of beer I muttered "Please tell me you put holy water in those". And when they figured out the brand on Sam's arm, I was all "Okay, destroy the integrity of the mark! Use a hot poker to disfigure it!"
See? You ARE Bobby!
I was spoiled for it being Meg possessing Sam, and had no HSQ there. It still worked better on rewatch, because I was distracted waiting to see when it would be that they'd figure it out.
Oh! And now you've seen Agent Exceedingly Hot, Smart, and Dimpled!
I think, though, my favorite moment in the whole episode at this exact point in time is where Dean looks at the letter opener and determines that it's silver by scanning it for a hallmark.
Bless.
See? You ARE Bobby!
With better clothing, thankyouverymuch. But I love the idea of sitting down with him and comparing research notes.

I wasn't spoiled for that part, so that was a "OMGwhat?!" moment. Which Pete promptly nit-picked by saying "Wait, didn't the YED tell John that they had killed the YED's daughter?"
I was very amused by Dean looking for the silver hallmark on the letter opener. The boy can be very clever. Now if he'd just learn to wear gloves when poking around crime scenes!

Silly Pete! It had already been established that exorcised demons could crawl out of hell! Also, that the YED is fond of hyperbole. Just a touch.
(The son, OTOH, was killed Ded Ded.)

I... that's not a common thing, then? 925, stamped into the bottom of an earring. (I know there are other marks, but that's the most common one, on my jewelry anyway.)

Considering how many female people (I'd expect more hallmark familiarity from women than men) were confused by it on LJ, not really, no. (.925 is the numeric hallmark for sterling. .900 is the numeric hallmark for coin silver. The hallmark would have depended on silver content and country of origin, as well as age of the piece.)
Still can't see the previouslies. Well, currently, b.org is the only place on the internet that is letting me in so I have not been able to check if it has appeared somewhere in a format that will work for me. But my friend S watched it and went through it with me (over the phone) frame by frame.
Is this the 3rd AC/DC song that they've used?
Has anyone watched the Devil's road map special feature? I just started it, and am really liking it.
Isn't it great?
Navigation is a little bit odd but it's so much fun.
