Was Dean wearing black gloves? How many scenes of him flinging around that sledgehammer did they film? (Because I'm assuming that's why he'd be wearing the gloves.) I've known a number of mechanics in my time, and none of them have ever worn gloves while working on cars.I figured sheet metal work. My dad always had gloves around for that because otherwise it'll serrate you. And he'd already cut off part of his thumb (with a saw, not sheet metal).
