"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

"I get it...why you're the one" My heart broke again

"That is so respectable" and then he checks out her ass.

Because books.

So depressing, Ailleann.

I hate that scene. And JP really sold it perfectly.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

This has always been the hardest ep of the season for me to watch, simply because of how Dean sees his perfect life, his low expectations for himself, the barest minimum of standards he'd expect others would have for him. It really hurts that he has no more belief in himself as any thing other than a hunter.

Makes me want to slap some sense into him.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

You know, I would almost want to write the story of what happened in the wish!verse... but it would be really fucking depressing.

Is there fic on it? I would like to read Carmen/Dean.

The Dean talking to Dad scene. I think he does a dead on impression of JDM. Inflections and all.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

Makes me want to make out with him. And then slap him.

Oh, so much Texas in this speech!

(I feel like I should be holding your hand right now, Bev...)

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

I just want to make out with him. And then hold him and make it all better.

This was my favorite episode, because I found it the hardest to watch. I agree with everything you said Bev. Thank God Bobby finally said something to him in the finale.

Because books.

That's what kills me about this ep, too, Bev. That he sees himself as worthless, really. It doesn't surprise him he works in a garage. He thinks dating a nurse is "respectable," and seems surprised. All his hapiness and expectations are for Sam, really.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

All his hapiness and expectations are for Sam, really.

Which makes Wishverse Sam's rejection of him that much more painful.

I need to think about that a bit more - is there anything beyond self-loathing to Dean's wish causing Sam to distance himself/Dean to push Sam away?

Exactly.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

There's a marvelous fic about "Sam saw Dean plunge the knife into himself. He tried to staunch the blood, but his brother bled out before the paramedics could find them," to paraphrase. It goes on to tell how Sam had been affected by how uncharacteristically determined Dean had been on that last evening, how sure of himself, which had made Sam hesitate just long enough not to be able to stop him. He starts to investigate some of the things Dean had mentioned, talked to the prof at school, etc., and learns about hunters and the things they hunt, and becomes a hunter in the alt-verse. Neat story, and no, I don't have a link.

There's Carmen/Dean, too, again, I haven't a link handy.
