It's my estimation that... every man ever got a statue made of him, was one kind of sumbitch or another.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I'm sure I could get some good information from some of the cancer forums, but the design of almost all of them makes my head hurt. Also, people use lol and the spelling is really bad.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think I should call Nick Denton and see if I can work out a deal...

What is even happening?

Y'all probably figured, as soon as you saw me posting in Natter, tonight, that I've been chewing on this same thing. Surprisingly, even (or especially) to me, I don't think this community will be served by outing Fast Eddie/Kimi/Gus/Janitor to other sites. Why would or should they believe us or care?

That said, I wonder if we would be served by having a FAQ entry on the whole deal. Some of this is too personal for me. That incident started me on my journey away from this board.

Come back, Little Cindy. Come baaack!

I just did some googling and the notions that Fast Eddie = Gus or that Gus just got tired of TV Tropes and pseudicided there are out there.

brillig

I wonder if he knows how much people still think about him.

What is even happening?

On one of the related articles, there were comments about Gus and Janitor. I had to sit on my fingers to refrain from chiming in. I learn hard, but I do learn.

Dcp, weren't you the person who spotted Gus posting at TVT after death?

Connie, I'm mostly thinking about him to make myself stop mourning Nora Ephron.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Wow, there's a weird flashback.

Wow. I just read the TV Tropes at Encyclopedia Dramatica (a pit of leprous vipers if there ever was one), and it's mostly boring overwrought feudy bullshit, but this caught my attention:

For those seeking the dox of the big man himself, note that the registered site owner (source) supposedly isn't actually Fast Eddie himself, but is his dead friend, "Gus", he has unpersoned from the site. He has, however, used the same information in registering other domains like mediatropes.org long after the supposed death, so make what you will from that information.
