"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ha! I dunno, P-C, you better not impersonate the president, or ND might SHOOT YOU IN THE FACE.

We'll probably be fine. And if we're not, we're not. That's how the system works. If people are concerned about the issue enough to vote, then there'll be a quorum.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

And I'm sure that after the vote that didn't pull quorum, some of us are paying more attention to such things, so that we don't disappoint the rest of us again.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

We'll probably be fine. And if we're not, we're not. That's how the system works.

Precisely. We made the rules, we follow them.

If we don't like the rules, we've got rules to go about trying to change them. We're very pedantic. And I like that about us.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

we don't disappoint the rest of us again.

I hope people aren't making up quorum to salve feelings. That's not what it's for. It's supposed to be an indicator of concern for the issues at hand. If you don't care about the vote, don't vote.

For my part, I am paying closer attention to votes that are being held, so that I am making a conscious choice to vote or abstain, rather than just letting my attention slide.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Didn't we used to have a 3rd vote option -- (1) yes, (2) no, and (3) something else which indicated "I don't have a preference on the outcome but I am voting in order to make a quorum"?

Or did we stop doing that? (Well, obviously we did, because that wording hasn't been in recent votes.) Was there a reason we stopped that? Because my memory is lousy and I'm just curious.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

quorum has been reached.

something else

I seem to recall a vote with the option, "ooh! clickybox!"

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

We voted to get rid of the "No Preference" option: Nilly "Sunnydale Press" May 22, 2008 11:51:26 pm PDT

Note that the vote itself included a "No Preference" option. I love us so much.

Thank you for propping up my swiss-cheese memory! Dang, I totally forgot about that vote.

Yeah, I'd forgotten it too. At the time, I remember feeling somewhat passionately in favor of Only Vote If You Actually Care, but now that I look back, I (a) never contributed to the discussion at the time and (b) totally forgot about the whole thing until you scratched my memory and I said "huh, we DID have a no preference at some point!"
