Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Personal opinion - use Minearverse with SLUG, if it gets renewed or the ratings look solid, propose we create a new one. I think you'll know tomorrow morning if it's DOA or not. I've seen a bunch of Dollhouse, I think it'll generate discussion here, so it needs to go somewhere obvious.

...see, I'm the opposite of Kevin. It'll get discussion, it's a Joss show, just give it its own darn thread, fercryin'outloud!

We didn't wait for Firefly or Angel to get renewed, did we? Did those have a vote or did they just get created?

I found a post in Bureaucracy 2 that asked the same thing -- the discussion was after we went through the big process to determine that we would always vote on whatever was considered important changes: Elena "Bureaucracy 2: Like Sartre, Only Longer" May 11, 2003 11:55:02 pm PDT

And this one that says even if Joss has a new show, we have to vote on the creation of a thread for it: DXMachina "Bureaucracy 2: Like Sartre, Only Longer" May 11, 2003 8:36:11 pm PDT

Note: the discussion these came from was in 2003. I don't know if, in the past 5-ish years, there was an interim decision about Any New Joss Show Automatically Gets A Thread. Sophia remembers it; I thought I did.

Maybe in the big discussion of What Is Our Board Culture And How Do We Use The Board, etc.? Does anyone remember when that discussion took place?

t edit Strega found more recent posts than I did, so ignore my archeological findings.

Relatedly, are old threads no longer archived into downloadable files? Because searching the old B'cracy threads is a slow process (I mean in terms of my computer doing the search itself, not in me reading it). I figured downloading the old B'cracy threads and then doing a text search would be easier, but there don't seem to be any recent threads here: [link]

The description of that says archives from Table Talk, WX, and "any future Buffista home sites," which I thought meant here.

But since this is the first time in -- well, ever -- that I've wanted to download an archived thread, it's not a big deal. I just wanted to mention it in case they *should* be there.

meara, I actually agree it should have it's own thread - I tried proposing it months ago for this exact reason - but I think it'll have to be a compromise now. Again, I think there will be significant amount of discussion about the show - it's outright weird for a Joss show, frankly - and moreso as it airs, so I think Natter is out of the equation. We should have had a proposal and vote a few weeks ago, really, but hindsight is everything.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I have no horse in this race except my anti-proliferation one.

There's nothing to stop anyone from making the proposal RIGHT NOW AIFG! and by the next airing of the show, if all goes well with the secondsies and the vote, you could have a new thread.

And if anyone digs up something more than a bullshit consensus on automatic creation of a new joss show, we can scrap the bureau-talk and create a new one sooner.

Thoughts?

We should have had a proposal and vote a few weeks ago, really, but hindsight is everything.

While this is true, it's been brought up several times. First it was, "Let's see if it gets picked up." Then, "Let's see if it makes it to air." I wish we'd proposed it a long time ago as there is plenty to point to on the Web and discuss around Dollhouse. I've gotten all my news, photos, etc. elsewhere, which makes me a little sad. Also sad to miss the discussion it might have generated. I still think it should have its own thread, no vote needed, but whatevs. Just tell us where to talk, even if it's totally non-sense-making (Minearverse and B&A, I'm looking at you).

Okay, then I propose we have a Dollhouse thread.

ETA: Uh, unless that means I actually have to do something, as I'm crazy busy from 11 on today.

Glam, you're cute.

I'll give it a second. Voting is fun!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Remember that if a dedicated thread is voted down, it can't be proposed again for six months. I really really think we should hold off until at least a few weeks when we get a sense of how the show is doing.

There's nothing else going on in Minearverse right now.
