I ended a friendship over an off-the-cuff remark. Granted, it was an off-the-cuff remark that contained the N word and when I pointed out how offended I was they refused to apologize but if they'd never said it we might still be friends.

I've been known to take an instant dislike to someone based on their shoes.

What I hear from the various comments that people have made is that while some individuals fear that they themselves might be judged on the basis of one single inappropriate post, that in fact most of us don't judge others quite so harshly.
