You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

Riches short season was totally caused by the strike and may have killed the show dead.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I think the idea of tagging has also been brought up before, but aside from the technical aspect of things (I assume it would be pretty difficult to implement), I think it would start to feel like we were on the road to becoming LJ or del.icio.us or whatever.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

See, for me, it isn't so much that I know what I want to talk about-- I want to see new subjects as they come up, in a somewhat timely fashion. Again, sort of impossible

brillig

It looks like we've got duelling conversational styles. One side has a topic in mind and wants to talk to Buffistas about it, and the other side wants to talk to Buffistas and wants to see what people are talking about at the time.

I suspect we're getting into "Tastes great/Less filling" terrain here.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Reality has always been the fastest-moving of the TV threads, but recently it's also the only one where none of the shows discussed in there were forced off the air for several months.

There's more of a watch-n-post aspect, too -- which I felt like people (who weren't participating) hated in Natter.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

See, for me, it isn't so much that I know what I want to talk about-- I want to see new subjects as they come up, in a somewhat timely fashion. Again, sort of impossible.

It might not be possible to automate it, but you could hive mind it.

In fact, this would be worthy of verbing Sophia.

To wit: people periodically drop a note in Natter with a Sophia at the top and sum up recent discussions in threads where they're active.

Not unlike the periodic requests from people who used to ask for a summary of what was going on in Spoilers.

Since I'm active in Music and Literary and Comedies I could just make a small civic gesture and sum up recent conversations there:

Sophia: Lots (lots!) of bandom talk in the music thread with much squeeage and love for My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and Cobra Starship. In Literary, I whine about my lack of reviews and Cor pats me on the back. In Comedy, some Office talk, and surprisingly little 30 Rock.

Like that. Just a little cultural shift and people who are in Great Write Way can alert for particular memes and people in Boxed Set can run down the new Torchwood speculation (perhaps with links). Etc.

Simple, easy, no-coding required.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Reality is the only bucket TV thread that works for me.

ETA: Upon reflection, I think it is because I keep up with those shows, because it so easy to be spoiled if I don't. I'm more likely to be behind in the others so finding the discussion/avoiding spoilers is a bit harder.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I rather like that idea. I wouldn't have known about the bandom talk but for the mention in Lightbulbs either, and I only check the music thread occasionally, since it's normally (unfortunately) not my beautiful cake, as they say.

Of course, that does require being caught up with Natter.

Or just searching Natter for "Sophia."

I suppose, although that will also pick up anyone who addresses Sophia in Natter.
