Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My point is that the fact that the slug mentions HoYay should not keep you out of the thread, as I have found it perfectly enjoyable regardless

Doesn't that just make the slug accurate?

The conversation mentioned catch all SF before the thread was created. I Nillied it way back in the day and found that mention at least.

But BS isn't being used in the manner it was created for, so much any more.

What manner do you mean? Sci Fi and fantasy? It looks like that's what's happening to me, and I'm curious about why people aren't finding it so.

Like I said, I really was not trying to start a huge debate again; I was just asking on the off chance that there was some alternative for new shows. I think Drew and I are in the minority in terms of Boxed Set not working for us, so no need to hash it out again.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Like I said, I really was not trying to start a huge debate again
It ever ended?

Not to just sound snarky, but I feel like this conversation keeps going around in the exact same circles. Boxed Set works for some and doesn't for others. I don't think that is going to change. And it's absolutely not not going to change in the past without a TARDIS. So perhaps more talk of looking forward if we want to keep discussing this?

Our wings are not tired

Basically we've been told obliquely more than once that if we want to talk TV in any way that might work for us, we might as well look elsewhere.

I brought it up because of the talk of new shows, not about what was already in the thread. To me, this was about looking forward. I asked; I got an answer. I hadn't planned to go around in circles.

ETA: And just in case it seems like ND and I were posting in tandem on purpose, we're currently 2000 or so miles apart. Just coincidence. Or that weird brain sharing that sometimes happens with couples, I guess. Or he borrowed the brain and forgot to leave some for me. Which is also possible given how braindead I've been lately. And I'm going to stop rambling now and get some sleep.

That seems a little harsh.

And I am not trying to be oblique, at all. I know that you hate the structure of Boxed Set and want to change it to single show threads or a bucket where you only watch one show in it (thereby being, for you, a single show thread) because of the way you watch tv.

Just? That's not the thread we have, the thread we voted for. I'm not saying look elsewhere or leave, just that unfortunately every place on b.org isn't going to work for every poster's needs all of the time.

Or that weird brain sharing that sometimes happens with couples, I guess.
No worries. I know you both share the same position on this. You enjoy genre tv, don't want to be spoiled, don't watch live and often catch up on dvds so the thread we have doesn't work for you.

Personally, Boxed Set has worked well for me at times in the past, at times it hasn't, and I am sure at some point it will again. The shows change and, for me, that's part of the beauty of it. And it always has seemed clear to me what shows fit there and belong there.

Sorry, I'm stuck in hotel rooms and exhausted from being out of town too much lately.

I've hit the point where I can accept the fact that I'm just out of luck on b.org for the shows that are already in Boxed Set, it's just a big bummer that it seems every time a new show comes up that looks really interesting to me and that people here seem to want to talk about, it too gets swallowed by Boxed Set.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

You can propose a new thread for a new show that you're interested in, regardless of its status in an existing thread.

I dunno what support you'd get, but that's the process. You do have options, just not necessarily the ones you want.

To be honest I just need to not worry about it. With the amount of work I've got lined up for the next few months I don't think I'm going to find any time to even turn on the TV. I'm just cranky tonight. Yakima is a depressing little town and I've been working on too much stuff from the hotel room tonight.

I think part of me was just looking to have an argument, and that's not fair to people here or to the board.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hee. It gets like that sometimes, Drew. No worries.

Wish things were working better for you at the moment. In the meanwhile, cranky is perfectly understandable.
