I'm just, uh, just feeling kinda... truthsome right now. And, uh... life's just too damn short for ifs and maybes.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I actually didn't find the Bale freakout that appalling. I mean, he had a temper tantrum and said fucking a lot, which is unprofessional and makes him seem like a git, but it was nothing compared to, for example, the 'Alec Baldwin bitches out his teenage kid' thing.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

True - but if you were to go off on a co-worker like that in a n office/library/etc, you would be so toast.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Christian Bale loses his SHIT.

More like "The DICK Knight", Bale.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Is it wrong that I wouldn't mind if he went off like that on his director (and nominal boss), but cast a hairy eyeball on the tirade being directed at someone further down the food chain?

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

When Lily Tomlin went ballistic on the set of I ♥ Huckabees, it was David O. Russell who ended up getting most of the blame, right?

Well, the DP isn't that far down the food chain, IIRC my heirarchy of film sets.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm with flea, I think. Film folk tend to be a bit more flamboyant than librarians and office workers; it's a facet of the job. It sounds like a regrettable tantrum requiring an apology and better behavior, but it's so far from showing up drunk to work or physical abuse--which other famous folk have done habitually--I can't be too shocked about it.

I wonder if I wouldn't be so disappointed if he wasn't playing Batman. I mean, I know the actor and the part are separate and blah dee blah, but...you know...

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Ha! Because Batman is in NO WAY a big rude freak.

(Granted, he wouldn't throw a hissy fit, because he wouldn't have to. A couple throat punches and batarangs later, and everyone falls in line. But polite he ain't.)
