Gary Oldman is in The Unborn ! WTF? So are Idris Elba, Carla Gugino, C.S. Lee, and James Remar. People sure like David S. Goyer.
Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Well, the Batman movies did raise his star considerably from his Dollman vs. the Demonic Toys days.
Bride Wars?
Just. Don't. It's every worst Bridezilla cliche you can think of, crammed into 90-ish minutes. It just left me wondering why everyone doesn't elope.
Oh, and Candice Bergen has had WAY too much plastic surgery.
I did love the headline for this weekend's returns...
Anne Hathaway, Kate Hudson Spanked by Clint Eastwood

That would have made the movie worth watching.
Has anyone else here seen Gran Torino?
I liked it a lot, and would have loved it except for a few quibbles (some minor, one major).
I loved it, Anne. i've seen it twice now.
I'd say that in R&GAD, he's not particularly morally conflicted nor suspect, but rather kind of an innocent fool.
Very, very true, and my bad on forgetting that one. Roth and Oldman really need to do another movie. Or a sketch show for BBC. Or something, cause they were such a great team in that. But still so far away from the concept of Jim Gordon, which is probably why I didn't think of it.

Really? I don't even know what it's about, and I'm irrationally annoyed at every new Clint Eastwood movie since EVERY SINGLE ONE is hailed as, like, THE NEXT GREAT CONTRIBUTION TO THE HISTORY OF CINEMA. I didn't like Million Dollar Baby very much, and that's the only movie of his I've seen. And Mystic River is the only other one I'm really interested in, although I am moderately interested in Unforgiven since I know Clint knows his Westerns.
I think Clint suuuuuuucks as a director. I've hated just about everything he directed other than Unforgiven and (for some strange reason) High Plains Drifter. But I mainly only like them in the context of his Leone movies.
