Hmmmm...MacGregor would be an interesting choice.
But why would the other pirates follow a woman?
Brenda's Anne Bonny article offers one suggestion -- pretend to be a man, though that complicates the movie's plot considerably. Or if she were an innkeeper, she'd have experience in leadership and running a business (and whatever else piracy may be, it's also a business). Not very strong reasons, but they're what I've got.
Brendan Fraser? Not that I've seen the original. But he can swashbuckle, and act too, though he rarely seems to be called upon to do so.
Wasn't there an awful pirate movie with Geena Davis in the captain's chair?

Yeah, it kind of damaged her and her husband's career.
That might explain the lack of decent feminist pirate movies. Although Kathy Acker's collaboration with the Mekons, Pussy, King of The Pirates is crying out for a feature-length movie.
Cutthroat Island
Peter Boyle was in that, wasn't he? He had oodles of fun.
Alas, far more than any members of the audience.

I'll get right on that, as soon as I finish this
Wonder Woman
script.
I've always wanted to see a good movie made about Anne Bonny.
