Tracy: Well-- That call -- That call means you just murdered me. Mal: No, son. You murdered yourself. I just carried the bullet a while.

'The Message'

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh, also saw Four Christmases yesterday.

A few laughs but mostly disappointing. (Although there were some amazing actors in that thing.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Hee!

Watched most of the first hour and a half before Amazing Race came on. After all, I know how it turns out (LotR, not AR).

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

But after AR, you could have flipped back and seen all the heartbreaking endings. I mean, in theory you could have. And it would still have the emotional impact. In theory, at least. Ummm...yeah.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I don't think I could ever live at Bag End. Cozy and charming, yes, but the name would forever give me the nagging feeling that I was living in a scrotum.

Well, if you live in a cul de sac, you live in Bag End already! (Cul de sac = end of bag. Tolkien loved his little puns.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Only Calli wanted to live in Lothlorien? I always preferred it to Rivendell.

When I look at the movies on my shelf, precious few of them take place in locations you'd want to live in.

If it's down to specific homes, the house in Spy Kids will always rank up there, off the top of my head.

“Not dead yet!”

Meep! According to IMDB, Baz is attached to direct the film adaptation of Wicked should it ever get past the "in development" stage.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Oh, that would be awesome!

Hey. New board.

...I would like that.
