Yes, there is. There's a hurry, Xander. I'm dying...I may have as few as fifty years left.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

The description from Jessica's DH has Spock serving on the Enterprise while Kirk is still a cadet.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh, so you mean it would help if I'd actually read the article in question, rather than just blabbing away?

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Actually my favorite steadicam action sequence is in Raising Arizona.

Good one! t /obligatory response to any Raising Arizona reference as I fucking love that film

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Actually my favorite steadicam action sequence is in Raising Arizona

Which resutled in the mind-boggling homage - the foot chase scene in Point Break.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

DH's write-up of the Star Trek preview clips

Must...quell...inner Trekkie...canon violations...threatening to...overload...better judgment...

...

KHAAAAAAN!

KHAAAAAAN!

KHAAAAAAN!

...

Better now.

Actually, I'm quite looking forward to the flick, despite the writhing of my inner purist.

I think my inner Trekkie is dead, because I don't care.

When reruns of anything but TOS come on, I'm very much "meh," and will only watch if nothing else is on. On the rare occasions I catch original series reruns, I care more, but it's with the fondness for a childhood toy. The fervent attachment is gone.

I'm looking forward to the movie, but the canon violations are sort of "whatever" to me.

As long as the movie doesn't suck.

And to play "How fast can I identify this episode?" Bonus points if you can id it just from the picture of the planet they're orbitting.

Done that.

I once blew Miracleman's mind by identified an episode of Next Gen within about a second, just by the star field in the opening shot.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I think the first Spider-Man flick ignored a lot of canon yet remained faithful to the soul of the character. I was annoyed by MJ but I loved the film. I'm hoping Star Trek will succeed similarly.

“Not dead yet!”

That's hardcore, dude.
