Pete is hugely annoyed that the giant space octopus might be gone.
Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I'm still optimistic. I understand the problem with how do they find out about the plot without the artists' colony? But I think post-911 we know now that a huge tragedy befalling New York isn't enough to unite the world. I skimmed the screening reports so I don't know whether that issue has been dealt with or if they just went with an alternate monster for the space-squid . I may or may not be able to make it all the way to march without finding out.
Laga, I hear you on the post-911 problem but keep in mind that it wasn't just an attack on New York, it was an attack on New York from an absolutely outside the earth threat. Given how they presented international relations in the novel, I think a conventional attack on New York wouldn't have done anything but escalate things.
ahh, that's a good point.
The law of diminishing returns suggests it will be best watched after an entire bottle of wine.
True. Plans made.
Hee. Chris of ISB mentions the latest trailer for The Spirit and notes
it contains the line “Is every damn woman in this damn hellhole out of her damn mind?” which is officially The Frank Millerest Sentence Ever Written.
ETA:
And for those of you who were wondering, the runner-up in the Frank Millerest Sentence competition was “I’m gonna kill you all kinds of dead,” which I seriously wish I’d come up with.

#1 is in the queue. Wine will be had, just in case but "it's cheesy but it owns it." sold me.

I prefer "Kill him a lot!!" from the Buffy movie.
Okay, someone talk down to me. What's the difference between this Batman Begins[Widescreen Dubbed Subtitle AC3] - Blu-ray Disc for $19.99 and this Batman Begins[Widescreen Dubbed Subtitle AC3] - Blu-ray Disc for $33.99? Just a prologue?
From the descriptions, it actually looks like the cheap one has more extras. Maybe the other one is in a collectible box? I have no idea.
