God, which one is Rio Grande ? Is that with Monty Clift? Or is that Red River ? I remember liking Fort Apache (although I always mentally add "the Bronx" after it).

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Rio Grande is cavalry, Apaches, estranged wife, dramatic friction with estranged son (not Monty Clift). Red River is cattle drive, Apaches, dead girlfriend, dramatic friction with adopted son (Monty Clift).
So much high-soapiness from the Duke!
(ETA: and it's not just you with Fort Apache: The Bronx.)
So much high-soapiness from the Duke!
HA HA HA HA HA! All in pants hitched up way too high.
So what's the consensus on the latest Mummy movie?
I was bored stiff. in fact, the *ahem* dvd i had started skipping after about an hour and i didn't feel compelled to attempt to see how it ended. in fact, i spent the majority of that previous hour surfing the net on my ipod and/or playing games on it.
the latest Mummy movie?
It was dull.
Despite lots of action sequences and fights and special effects, it was dull.
they should never make one of these things without Oded Fehr
They should never make any film without Oded Fehr.
I loved Michele Yao, but she wasn't given enough to do.
This really irritated me. The movie was sweepingly dull to begin with, so I kept waiting for Michelle Yeoh to appear because she's wonderful... but they really didn't know what to do with her.
I did like the first two Mummy films for mindless fun. I need mindless fun sometimes. But this one just... I was kind of fidgety through it all, which is never a good sign.
They should never make any film without Oded Fehr.
Word.
I stand abashed (...) at my spelling gaffe.
It was phonetic! Yeah.
Cher? As Catwoman??? Angelina Jolie would be so much better!
Okay - that piece also reports:
Rumors also have Johnny Depp starring as The Riddler, Angelina Jolie as Catwoman and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin in the follow-up to this summer's blockbuster "The Dark Knight."
Hmmm, Johnny Depp as the Riddler. . .
