Wash: Don't fall asleep now. Sleepiness is weakness of character. Ask anyone. You're acting captain. Know what happens you fall asleep now? Zoe: Jayne slits my throat, and takes over. Wash: That's right. Zoe: And we can't stop it.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I will become unable to function from despair and ennui if I do not have it.

Just another day at the House O' Reason...

But you KNOW IT'S TRUE. (The same thing goes for the fancy version of Sweeney Todd.)

Yes, but we're not buying any Blu-ray's until we actually have the bloody player!

I know, I know, cruelly sensible to the last, that's me.

You're just enjoying thwarting me.

Can't you play Blu-Ray on some game modules?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Peev is an XBox man. Of course, this is another reason to taunt him with the obvious superiority of the PS3.

This is where it is a benefit to be married to a Game Stop manager and avowed gaming geek. We have a PS3 an XBox 360, a Wii, and various DS systems wandering about the house. Not that I give a rat's patoot about the gaming systems, but since the PS3 plays Blu-Rays, I'm willing to humor his gaming addiction.

Well, y'know I always expected to buy a PS3 & an Xbox, but the fact is that Sony cut some corners on the final internal arrangement of the cell processor and it's just not as powerful as it was originally boasted. If it was the 360 wouldn't be able to get in spitting distance of its graphics, but it can.

Anyway, on topic, the PS3 is one option for a player but some of the standalone players coming in the fall should have a better spread of features. Probably.

And I'm all of a sudden flashing back to that dinner at the Yachtsman's Steakhouse. You, Drew, and Lewis make a formidable geek trio...
