I watched Sunshine last night. I have to agree with everyone else that it's good until it stops being good.
Yes, really. Such potential. Such a fine story for 80% of the movie. Such a bloody nonsensical waste.
To a lesser degree this could also be said of
Doomsday
which manages to be gory fun with a relatively cohesive but strained storyline, which then just flushes it down the loo and decides to wrap things up as if everyone making it was kind of late for the last bus home. No meaningful narrative or emotional resolution in the thing.
Doomsday... Yeah. It's like a live action Reaver movie. I really like the director - he made one of my favourite horror movies, The Descent, which cares about it's characters and is AWESOME - but the last bit of Doomsday is pretty rubbish.
DH is blurbed on the Son of Rambow DVD cover & website!! Squee!
it is awesome! I loved it.
I just watched
Fido.
I had no idea how good it was going to be. Like, I would buy that, good. As soon as I realized Carrie Anne Moss was the mom I knew I was in for a treat but the great actors just kept on coming. I never even recognized Billy Connolly.
He was in that? He wasn't on my radar at all until XF2, and then I saw him in
Timeline
a couple days later.
Sends P-C a copy of Connoly's stand up special, Pale Blue Scottish Person.
