You know what movie I consider a cult classic, is of marginal quality, but I can't look away when it comes on tv? The Wraith Damn, that is quite a movie.
For some reason, I always think of the Wraith when I think of Repo Man.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

runs to add The Wraith to my netflix queue. I always think of Liquid Sky in the same context as Repo Man.
eta: awwww "The Wraith has been added to the Saved section of your DVD Queue. This movie's availability date is unknown"
Laga,
it shows up on AMC or TBS like all the time, so just look for it in zap2it.
BTW The Wraith has not a lot to do with Repo Man it is my weird psyche coming to the fore, just so you aren't disappointed.
sometimes Netflix scares me:
Because you enjoyed
The Doom Generation, Waiting..., and Dazed and Confused
we think you'll like
Smiley Face.
I've never heard of Smiley Face but I had to add it just because I can't imagine what the intersection of those three films might look like.
I just watched Night of the Creeps. Now there's a cult classic I can get behind! It was already pretty good, and then he threw in zombie pets and a hot chick with a flamethrower.
The OnDemand version had the original studio ending rather than what the director wanted, unfortunately. I would have liked to see the actual ending, especially since without it, the opening prologue is even more unnecessary.

Well, and they both have a son of Martin Sheen in them (just not the same one), right?

From what I understand, the only connection to DOOM GENERATION is it's the same director; just very unlike anything he's done before.
I just watched Repo Man. That is a strange, strange movie.
Half the best jokes in the movie don't come to light unless you see the movie a few times. There are a lot of background jokes, like the sign advertising "Plate o' shrimp" in one scene.
Somebody describe The Wraith to me and explain why I should be interested?
(Yeah, I could IMDB it, but I'm more interested in what youse guys have to say about it.)

At a guess, there will be directionless iconoclast teens or twentysomethings unhappy with their lot in life. And having lots of sex.

Oddly, not so much: [link]
Theo,
A bunch of thug teens kill another teen who was dating a young woman the head of thugs liked.
The killed teen comes back as "the wraith" embodied as Charlie Sheen and wreaks havoc on the thug teens in often spectacular ways.
Features: a car race; some sex and violence
