I still love The Mummy.
I harbor a completely natural crush on Brendan Fraser, would love to take Oded Fehr out back behind the woodshed and have my way with him, have a desperate crush on John Hannah, think Kevin O'Connor makes a deliciously slimy villain, and want to look like Rachel Weisz when I grow up.

You are not alone there, Barb.
Barb, you are a goddess. Thank you so much.
Plus? I was just about to watch Blade while sorting papers, but I'm going to watch the Mummy based on your reminder of my own true love...as perfectly articulated by you.
Not really movie related, but to close the circle, here is my letter to Angie Dickinson:
Ms. Dickison,
I'm writing to you today to say thank you.
Recently, I recalled a formative moment in my life that was inspired by your work...not on the screen...but as an activist.
While brushing my teeth, I flashed back to an appearance on the Tonight Show, some 30 years ago. You admonished America to turn off the tap between brushing and rinsing. Frankly, as a teen, that particular form of waste had never occurred to me. Your message...and I may not be remembering this correctly...was not taken particularly seriously...but it was so common-sensical that I have practiced your advice every day since then.
Long before 'green' became a verb, you inspired a lifetime of environmental awareness in me and, I'm sure, many others.
Thank you very much for that,
Harry Potter movie update:
New Harry Potter trailer to be released on Tuesday
The first teaser trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth movie in the Harry Potter series, will premiere via Satellite on Tuesday. The first worldwide showing of the trailer will air on Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. EST. The second airing will show Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 6:15 a.m. EST.
Oh Aims, I totally forgot to tell you, when I was in NYC, I saw a billboard advertising ticket sales for Equus. Unfortunately, they'd gone all minimalistic and only had the play's name and the ticket info on the billboard. No pictures. Otherwise, I might've taken many, many pictures for you, darling.
Or found a way to steal the billboard and having it shipped to Ann Arbor.
I think I need to go back to wizard news to figure out where to see that - to just say via satellite - really isn't enough.
From the link at Wizard News:
The coordinates for the satellite airing are as follows:
Galaxy 28, Transponder 19, C-Band Analog Downlink Frequency: 4080V Audio Configuration: 6.2/6.8
The trailer will likely find its way to the internet shortly after the satellite airing.
Okay, I just saw
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
and loved it. Who here described it as a noir screwball comedy? Because it totally is!
