The mental image that I always get of Frank Miller is
I met Frank Miller once. When I was working for Fantagraphics I had to stop by his house o pick up some art for one of their many comic defense fund benefit books. He was weedy and rat-faced. And I say that as a fan of much of his early work.

Don't tempt the gods, it's bad enough they remade The Women.
I can imagine a cast that could do a credible remake of Bringing Up Baby. However, when there is the perfection that is the original, there is no need for a credible remake.
Didn't stop them from fucking with Sabrina and Born Yesterday. Hollywood is always looking for ways to ruin the best of the best for us.

I don't know. I thought the script for the remake of Sabrina was much, much better than the original. Which was lovely, but kind of anemic, and totally reliant on Audrey Hepburn's glowing radiant presence to fill in the extremely sketchy pencil lines of the character as written.

And that's all I need from that movie. It will always be my favorite of her movies. Of course, you must understand that when I saw it for the first time that Harlequin romances were the height of literature for me at that stage of my life, too. The movie holds an innocence for me that I associate with that time of my life and I want to keep it that way. But, that's why they do make remakes, sometimes stories can be improved. I just chose not to watch that one for reasons of nostalgia.

Kate Mulgrew and George Clooney! They could film it in black & white and see if audiences could tell it from the original...
Since Audrey Hepburn has been mentioned, I really think her movies should be off limits for remakes because they depended so much on her personal charm for their magic. I do NOT want to be subjected to Jennifer Love Hewitt as Princess Ann or Holly Golightly.
