Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Saw Dan in Real Life which was okay (too many watch-from-the-hall moments), but I now realize that I don't absolutely hate Dane Cook. I've never seen his stand-up or whatever it is that he does, my hate for him grew out of seeing him in Mr. Brooks and figured, combined with what I later learned about him, this was just him and his thing, and I cared not a jot for it.

But, up until the end of DiRL (which I thought was... weak and wrong), I liked the guy and found him very un-Dane-Cook-like.

If I'm going to see a more hip version of Sherlock Holmes, I'll rent Zero Effect again. Much prefer that film over the idea of a lame comedic attempt at the great detective.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

not sure what I think about that trailer.

Not Keanu's finest acting.

My mom never goes to the movies, but we got her to see Wall E based on our gushing. She loved it, and it was just as good the second time. Actually, it was better because I wasn't as worried about anything so I could pay more attention. Oh and the short made the DH laugh just as much this time..he's so goofy.

GC's ranking is mine except I would put Cars under Ratatouille and Toy Story 2 4th.
