What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M.C. Escher perspective, but I did get time to think.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I hated her anyway. I bought Joan Allen's character's change of direction (although she was dumb to go to the park--did she know she was being tracked? I got confused about which person told Straitharn's character she was talking to Bourne) but as for her it seemed a little fast to make that "not under duress" call. And she can't emote for shit, which doesn't help.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Has anyone seen The Golden Door? I hadn't heard of it, but it is playing at one of the local theaters, and I thought it looked interesting. We might go see it tomorrow, and I would love to hear if anyone had seen it before.

Art Crawl!!!

They've changed the name of The Dark is Rising to The Seeker: The Dark is Rising.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Oh, dear.

Art Crawl!!!

I know. I don't understand how that name change helps. LOTS of people know what The Dark is Rising is.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I don't understand how that name change helps.

It's certainly not helping me ear-worm wise.

You smelled the smell?

I saw a trailer for "The Dark is Rising" and it bore no discernible relation to the novel as i remember it- but it has been a long time.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I don't know what The Dark Is Rising is, but it's a killer title. Making it a subtitle is dumb.

Dog is my co-pilot.

Hot Fuzz was hilarious. As if I didn't already know that I need to see Shaun of the Dead.

Just saw Hot Fuzz. It was quite fun. Not quite Shaun of the Dead zombie fun, but lots of fun. And Timothy Dalton was a hoot.

I'm always certain that when I watch British comedy films I'm missing some of the humor. Nevertheless, this was wonderful. I wonder if it's that much more funny if you're in the UK.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Emmett and I just saw the Simpsons movie. He's just discovered the show and thinks it's genius.

He laughed pretty much nonstop throughout.

Most important new data? He laughs at Itchy and Scratchy cartoons exactly like Bart does.

I think they nailed the ten year old boy.
