Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

No. In fact, it's Marvel's way of saying "You know that Hulk movie a few years back? FORGET IT EXISTED."

Seriously.

Oh, good. Because I got dragged to that one by my cousin who I was babysitting for and it sucked royally. Maybe I'll have to see this one.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

My understanding is it's sort of a stealth sequel that will pick up the action after the events of the previous movie without really referring to it much, but won't have the in-depth retelling of the Hulk's origin and so forth.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Well, it does technically pick up where the last one left off (with Banner/Hulk off in some South American jungle somewhere), but I'm pretty sure that's the one and only reference.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yep. Also, I'm one of the five people who liked the first one.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Jesse James

Thought way too much of itself. It was rather boring and the soft around the edges shots got old really fast.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Samurai Saga this weekend, which features Toshiro Mifune playing Cyrano de Bergerac in feudal Japan. It had the artificial Technicolor look of a John Sturges movie, but Mifune brought his considerable chops to bear on the role.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Primal Fear

And this will always be why Edward Norton gives me the heeby jeebies. While I love Fight Club and Keeping the Faith, my kneejerk reaction to seeing him onscreen is always one of horror and trauma.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

He's been in the bar with his shirt off! And we have his signed champagne bottle calling it the best bar ever!

That is why I will always love Edward Norton.

OK, that's a story I've got to hear. Isn't your bar a sorta-kinda gay bar?

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I saw The Fall over the weekend. Very beautiful and the little girl was wonderful.
