Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Go me!!

See, I didn't even think the plot was all that great. Well, maybe just executed as well as it could have been. It felt as though they were trying to do everything that they can't on tv. Now, South Park and Beavis and Butt-head even did that pretty well I thought. They got the really bad not-for-prime-time stuff in there, but it also made sense.

The Simpson's missed this, with the exception of Marge yelling. "Will someone throw the god damn bomb?" That was perfect because I think that she gets so frustrated with Homer that she just wants to strangle *him* and just go off.

But honestly? Homer flipping everyone off and seeing Bart's dingle were just too much for me. And Saint Flanders. Bah. The only part of him I liked was the "Well I wish you didn't have the Devil's curly hair."

There were some fun-ish parts. Martin beating the shit out of those guys was funny. Mrs. Krobapple with the NOT MY BOYFRIEND t-shirt was great. Emperor Moe was fabulous.

But for the most part? The plot would have been much better suited for one of the regular shows.

Homer hasn't been redeemable for me since he framed Marge for drunk driving.

One word: Panda.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

One word: Panda.

This sounds vaguely familiar. Care to refresh my recollection?

Huh. I laughed and laughed and laughed all the way through. The Simpsons movie made me happier than movie has made me in a long time.

Does Homer have sex with a panda? That's what googling tells me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Bourne Ultimatum = awesome, because Jason Bourne = awesome. I was shocked at how full the theater was, for midafternoon on a workday. Here's the only bad part: it made mewish my career path was such that people would refer to me as "The Asset."
