Everybody plays each other. That's all anybody ever does. We play parts.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I was still so dense I thought they were just having a horizontal conversation during the sex scene.

Bwahahahahahaha!!!

Though you were right, in a manner of speaking

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Back to Indy- Am I the only one who didn't know there are real crystal skulls? Of course they're not like the ones in the movie but the mythos are as similar as the Ark of the Covenant was to Raiders and the Grail legends were to Last Crusade (though I've watched Temple a few times I always forget just what it's about).

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

(though I've watched Temple a few times I always forget just what it's about).

The plot of Temple of Doom is about Indy needing to recover Shiva's junk.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Ok, now I'm trying to remember what my first rated R movie WAS.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Hair being PG was just ridiculous. It had skinny dipping, swearing, sexual language ("Sodomy" led me to look up several words in the dictionary), and loads of stuff that would immediately give it an R rating today. That PG rating is probably the reason Dad thought it would be safe to take my sister and me to see it after we begged him.

My first R film was The Blues Brothers.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My first R-rated movie was Cocktail, but I saw it on VHS. No clue what my first in-theatre R was.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Am I the only one who didn't know there are real crystal skulls?

Nope. I didn't find out until after seeing the movie.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Huh. SatC had a bigger opening weekend than Indy.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Ok, now I'm trying to remember what my first rated R movie WAS.

I have no idea.
