You can still find 1408 here and there. Do ::not:: try I Know Who Killed Me it's getting nothing but boos. Also depending on what kind of scary you need, you might get some satisfaction from either Rescue Dawn or Sunshine.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
The problem with 1408, if I find it, is that a friend is in it, and it'll undermine the scary.
But I will look.
Ooh, I forgot about Sunshine. That could work, ita.
It could indeed. Except I just saw it. We're the lamest outing organisers ever.
The Invasion of the Bodysnatchers remake comes out on the 17th.
That might work! Thanks.
I just saw a commercial for that! It looked cool enough.

About 95% of the scary occurs when Cusack is by himself in the room, though. I went in expecting it to be crap, and had to admit it was pretty good (if less subtly scary than the short story). For a King horror adaptation, it may be the non-Kubrick gold medal winner.
Is your friend the incredibly hot guy that plays a surfer in it?
Is your friend the incredibly hot guy that plays a surfer in it?
That's the one. I'm guessing it's not a big role, because he doesn't have a name, just "surfer dude" in the credits. I haven't actually talked to him about it.
Underdog. ugh. Well... it wasn't as bad as Firehouse Dog.
I predict there will be few reviewers who pass up the opportunity to call it "Under-whelming" or at least "likely to Under-perform at the box office."
