Juno's pipe being one of the big things.
Juno's pipe I saw as something a "quirky" girl would affect in a small town, just because. ::coughnotthatiidentifyoranythingcough:: Her mannerisms didn't bug, for that reason. The dialogue in the first 20 minutes did, but it does calm down.
Rudy Wurlitzer talks about his career on Maud Newton's blog. This is probably more literary than movies, but Wurlitzer wrote a few of my favorite movies.
Agreed on Juno. It does get better, but overall I was pretty meh about it, which really annoyed my mom who just LOVED it. Still love the Page, though.
White Noise 2: the hell?
Oh, Nathan and Katie, the crap I watch for you. The crossfade-porn alone made me want to gouge my eyes out.
Does it manage to be even less sensical than the original? (Not a small challenge, I'll admit...)
Um, more sensical . . . in that I was sober when I watched it. The first White Noise I was three sheets to the wind fifteen minutes into it and was surprised when I saw the end credits rolling. I remember Michael Keaton staring at static on a tv in a dark room and that's about it.
Set details about the next Trek movie. Basically it's a rundown of the ship sets involved, and there are plot spoilers to be had from that.
Sex and the City (minor spoiler): You can get married at the Public Library? Really? That would be so cool!
Yeah. That's about what I got from that. It was cute, there were some parts of the ending that I liked, others not so much.
Hil, I think I saw that location in one of those wedding shows on TLC. Or possibly in an episode of QE.
Yeah, I just looked it up. I totally want to get married there. It's probably ridiculously expensive, though.
