Keanu is so ingratiating that even Joe Queenan did a nice article about him. Well, nice for Queenan.

I liked River's Edge & My Own Private Idaho. I just saw Speed recently and I think for some reason Keanu + blockbuster action movie = sleepytime for Strega.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I don't know or care. That movie was all about Helen Slater watching that silent version of Joan of Arc and cutting her hair all butchy. I was not paying any attention to the rest of it.

That's the only part worth watching! It's not butchy, though. It's cute.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I like watching Point Break with the sound off, because it's the gayest movie EVAR. Does that count as being a Keanu fan?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Dude, without sound, you miss half the gay.

So, I've been seeing Get Smart posters all over town. Up until now, they've been the Carrell/Hathaway posters. I don't know how the movie will be. It will probably suck, but it might be good.

However, last night I saw a new poster -- Carrell/Hathaway, plus The Rock and Patrick Stewart.

Presumably Stewart will be playing Chief. Does this mean Rock is playing Hymie? 'Cuz that just might be made of at least little awesome.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I thought that Alan Arkin was playing the chief.

Huh. Scola's right. I was driving by the poster, and I only thought I saw Patrick Stewart on the poster. Must have been been Arkin, I guess.

The rest of the cast sounds pretty good, but there's a review (presumably from a preview screening) that kinda rips it apart. Oh well. I was expecting as much.

Huh. Scola's right. I was driving by the poster, and I only thought I saw Patrick Stewart on the poster. Must have been been Arkin, I guess.

It might also have been Terrence Stamp, who's playing Seigfried. The Rock is playing Agent 23. It's been so long since I've seen the original, I can't remember if that's a character from it or a new one for the movie.
