Sir? I think you have a problem with your brain being missing.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Art Crawl!!!

Well, I watched/listened to the teaser for The Dark Knight and HL certainly sounds like the Joker.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Ingmar Bergman, 89, RIP.

Looks like somebody forgot to work on his chess game.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Looks like somebody forgot to work on his chess game.

Or maybe he's been fending off death since he was 48.

Fanny and Alexander is one of my favorite movies.

move out and draw fire

I saw his theatre company do Lear in Toroto in 1990? 1991? The production was just okay. Branagh played Edgar and was terrible. Emma Thompson played The Fool as a misshapen, almost Igor like character and just completely blew me away. Definitely in the top three stage performances I've ever seen.

I saw this in LA, in 1989/90, and felt the same.

I, however, loved The Muppet Movie like crazy.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I loved The Muppet Movie but I haven't seen it since I was ten. ET we saw at the big anniversary re-release thing and it didn't hold up well. Especially with all the changes. And I was hoping for Harrison Ford's footage getting restored but that was just a big tease.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

The making of a hero: Iron Man teaser recorded at Comic Con. Get it while it's still up...

Okay...that Iron Man thing looked very cool.

Holy crap. That looks awesome.

Dammit, it's gone! Curse you, Paramount!

Wow, first Bergman, now Michelangelo Antonioni is dead.

I loved Blow-up, but I have to admit that L'Avventura left me cold.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Wow, first Bergman, now Michelangelo Antonioni is dead.

Quick! Someone go check on... uhm, which other venerable European director is still alive? Eric Rohmer? Werner Herzog?

Whoo Tony Leung!

Seriously, he has the saddest, most beautiful face EVERRRRRR.
