BOOK THREE???
They have these movie thingies that take much less time and effort. I've seen up to movie 4, and will surely go see movie 5 real soon. I'm much more caught up on movie Potter.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

We got the trailer for The Dark is Rising yesterday. I squeaked I was so excited. Nine (Eccleston) as The Rider, and Ian McShane! And maybe they just chose the non-cheesy FX for the trailer, but damn, it looks good.
See, I had the exact opposite reaction. I saw the trailer and I thought, "Wow, McShane will appear in all kinds of crap." It didn't help that they showed a few trailers for "ordinary boy discovers extraordinary powers/object" movies in a row, but i was not impressed.
BOOK THREE???
Heh. That's all I've read. I've only seen the first movie. I have no Potter magic in my heart.
With the Dark is Rising trailer, my problem was that I was so turned off by the beginning of the trailer (That's not Will! Will is *still* not American! Who the hell are those people?) that I couldn't enjoy the rest of it.
You should reward yourself with a trip to MICHIGAN!
Oh yeah! I'd love to do that soon, but less than a week after Midsummer closes, I'll be starting a new play at the Colony through the month of August, and after that is the install for Halloween Horror Nights.
And some time during the month of August, I have to fly up to San Jose to see my Mom, both my sisters, my BiL, and my NEW NIECE!
And a movie. Definitely a movie. (See! On topic, still.)
NEW NIECE!
She's here???
Also Aims, I wish you were here to come see this production of Midsummer Night's Dream. I think you'd absolutely love it, to your own great surprise.
She's here???
Yep, she arrived last Saturday at about 3 in the morning. My sis started having contractions at 11. They were on the phone with L&D off and on through the night, the contractions hit 10 minutes apart at a little after 2 am, they pulled up to the hospital at 2:50, and the baby was born on a gurney at 3:11.
My BiL has a pretty funny story in his blog about it. Clearly the niece was all like "Oh, here's the way out. Somebody's been through here before."
Apparently my sister wanted to keep standing, and the nurse wanted her to lie on the gurney. Sis finally agreed to lie down as another contraction hit, and my BiL said "it was like someone threw a water balloon at her feet." They got her on the gurney and examined her, at which point the nurse said my sis was at 10 centimeters and plus 2 position. My BiL then asked "Will she still get her epidural?" to which the nurse replied "Uh, no. The baby will be here before it kicks in."
Also, my movie goof quiz score?
8/10. The only ones I missed were Forrest Gump and The Iron Giant.
I wish you were here to come see this production of Midsummer Night's Dream.
I probably would. I like that play.
At least, I liked what I saw of it in Dead Poet's Society.
