I think it was Sky. Which, call me a snob, but it makes me a bit wary.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Oh, sorry. You're probably right.
What makes you wary about Sky? I thought the entire production was tonally inconsistent and off, like they were both trying to be too serious and didn't know how to make the humor in the book actually funny. But Susan was pretty, and there was some good stuff scattered throughout.
you didn't happen to be at the new Arclight did you?
No, just a small southern mall theater.
Death cracked me up...even Aimee, who has never read Discworld (despite my constant exhortations of "Seriously, I think you'll like it!") stopped and laughed at something Death did. I think it was the scene with the wagon driver. He was just so...nice and solicitous.
I think my main problem with it is...not what they cut but something about how they cut it made it seem kind of jumpy. Like, even if you'd never read the book you could tell something probably went there, but it's not there and now this scene doesn't make as much sense as it should.
Corwood, I've seen that movie and it is made of hilarity.
I love it. I remember being way more freaked out by the "Indian" guy's arms when I was a kid than any of the horrific violence.
What makes you wary about Sky?
Mostly that they have no tradition of making original tv at all. They do reality shows sometimes, and they had a trashy soap about a football team once, but they mostly show American imports. It's quite a leap from that to literary adaptation.

Footballers Wives ?

That wasn't just once. That went into extra overs, for lack of a proper sporting term in my brain.
Footballers Wives ?
Nope. That at least could be watched with a hint of irony. Um, Dream Team? Possibly.
