My question is... what's the verdict on I Am Legend?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The Judge definitely has songs in the show, though I can't say if they've been cut. I imagine "Pretty Women" is still in there, at least in part.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Does Rickman sing, Jessica?

Yes. His big angsty solo number has been cut, but "Pretty Women" and all its reprises are still in there.

Should I wait for Netflix or go see it in the theater?

I'd say see it in the theatre, because for all its flaws it's still a very BIG movie and would be best seen on a big screen in a completely dark room with surround sound.

You should, at some point, Netflix the DVD of the staged production starring George Hearn and Angela Lansbury.

EVERYONE should do this.

My question is... what's the verdict on I Am Legend?

DH was surprised that he liked it, since he's a fan of the book.

That perks me right up!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

All this talk of Sweeney Todd reminded me that the complete 1979 Broadway cast recording (as opposed to the Highlights version) was supposed to have been re-released this year, and yay, it was! I've stilll got a few days left on my extra discount week at my bookstore job, so I can get it at 30% off on Sunday.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Sacha Barron Cohen is pitch perfect as Pirelli.

1. Ali G does musicals??

2. Borat can actually SING?? (When he's himself, he's got a lovely speaking voice, and should do all books on tape evar.)

3. How on earth did he manage not to mug for the camera?

The role is one of the less subtle in the show. I've been hearing he's good, though.

(Sweeney Todd likes carrots.)

Woe to the fucking wicked.

All this talk of Sweeney Todd reminded me that the complete 1979 Broadway cast recording (as opposed to the Highlights version) was supposed to have been re-released this year, and yay, it was!

And this, I think, resolves my issue of "which recording should I get?"

He's playing Pirelli. Mugging for the camera is exactly what he should be doing.

AWESOME. I only have it on cassette tape (and no longer have a tape player...)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

My parents had a copy of the full soundtrack album, which almost certainly got drowned in Katrina. I wonder if they want a replacement.

I bought a copy earlier this year off eBay. (Oooh, the Into the Woods soundtrack is back in print too!)
